The Apple of my eye--a guest post by Ramesh

A few days back I had invited a few of my good friends to write a  Guest post on my blog, as I am doing a blog marathon and this blog needs a new post everyday. Satish was the first to oblige with a really well written, entertaining and humourous post on how India won the world cup.
I did not really expect anyone else to write a guest post for me, but imagine my surprise when Ramesh of Business Musings, sportingly obliged. His is easily one of THE BEST business blogs in these parts of the world. The issues he writes on, the depth of research that goes into each of his pieces, his clarity of expression and his incisiveness, makes each of his posts a delightful read. Not to mention, he has a terrific sense of humour too! (I do know how to surround myself with people who're intelligent, smart and witty!). Here is the post he has written. If you're nice and be generous with your comments (we bloggers absolutely love people who comment on our posts) who knows, he may oblige with more :-).
Here's his post. I am sure you will like it as much as I did. :-)

The Apple of my eye

Can anybody resist “pretty and intelligent women” ?  Well I can’t ! Being a “normal” member of the male species, you can’t blame me, can you ? For most fellow members of my clan, “intelligent” may be an optional adjective, but “pretty” is pretty much de rigueur, if you’ll pardon the pun.

So when you get an invite for a guest post from a pretty and intelligent woman,  it is but natural that you jump head over heels. Especially if you are of a certain age when pretty young things start to call you ”uncle” !! The invitation was made even more delectable by a suggestion that many pretty and intelligent women inhabit this space. Apparently 929 of them. I am told this blog has 930 followers and if you leave out yours truly ……. you get the picture.

You see, I am totally besotted with this very pretty and intelligent thing. I haven’t had the courage to tell her to her face; me being the shy and retiring type. So what better way to proclaim undying love than through this famous blog.

She’s incredibly pretty, I tell you. Slim and yet not skinny. Absolutely gorgeous curves. Not very fair – she being more of the sultry variety. And what skin – incredibly glossy and super smooth. A sure head turner. She attracts the attention of every passerby – men oogle shamelessly and women burn with envy. None can resist staring.

But what about the intelligence ? There are many men who would rather not mix intelligence with beauty.  Such men better not come anywhere close to this wonderful lady. For starters she has an incredible memory. Forgets nothing. And she can sing like an angel.  She can sing for hours and send you into raptures of delight. She’s also an artist – shows off her paintings in incredible colour. And boy oh boy – can she charm people and bowl them over.

But best of all, I like her companionship. She’s a great conversationalist. She talks when I am in the mood, but has that wonderful ability to remain silent, when she senses I don’t feel like it – an absolutely unique quality not usually prevalent in the fair(er) sex.  She loves being with me , but also knows when to be inconspicuous, when I would rather be alone.

As you can see, I’ve rambled incoherently, both at the very thought of the lady as well as the prospect of reaching out to 929 more pretty and intelligent ladies. But then – what the hell . Some day you have to cast off your inhibitions and rule from your heart. You have to do things that you normally don’t do and sing praises of your undying love in public. She’s going to be shell shocked on reading this, but I hope she’ll feel all warm about me.

I love you, my wonderful iPhone.

  16. Hahahaaaaa.....Ramesh u r absolutely incorrigible[an old-fashioned word I knw].
I actually thot u were talking abt Preeti....the 1st doubt occurred at 930 followers but then I thot u were adding up all her blogger+FB followers.
[I even wondered if Satish was going to duel with u after this post after all tht talk abt curves & stuff;-D]
But the 2nd thing which made me seriously wonder was the 'she sings....delight' and I was like 'Huh I remember Preeti saying in some post abt not being able to sing for nuts' then who is this mystery woman. Never guessed it till the end tho.
Ang u r right abt HER. I wonder what u'll think if I say without hesitation that I love her too. I've had her for 2 yrs now....newer 'hepper' models keep exhibiting themselves every now & then but I'm not the least tempted, I'm the loyal types thata way;-D
    Besht post Ramesh...had a good laugh;-D!!!!
