A quick and easy DIY for clearing charger clutter. Post 4

How are you doing today?

The one thing I dislike very much is clutter. Clutter bothers me, and messes with my mind. I am a huge fan of the Konmari method. If you do not know what that is, and you want to get rid of clutter in your life,  do read Marie Kondo's Life Changing Magic of Tidying. I highly recommend it.

Here's what I did today.

Neat, isn't it?

It isn't hard at all. I made it myself. This is how I did it.

Step 1: Find a suitable box. I used an amazon box.

Step 2: Make a neat slit in the side.

Step 3: Place your extenion plug inside the box, and take out the wires through the slit.

Step 4: Decorate the box! I used washi tape for the edges to make them neat.

And oh--I also made extra hole for the phone charger wires to come out.

Since that side is against the wall, I didn't bother to decorate it, as it is hidden.

I was mighty pleased with it. :)

  2. A nice blog madam. Tidying up things in life is essential

  3. It’s beautiful and innovative ma’am. I made a key holder for my place a few days back. I can’t share a picture here in the comments, if you share your email id I can send you there.

Also after seeing your quilling posts which you had made long time ago...I had begun to learn quilling and from there my craft senses had become active!! Thanks for that too ma’am.

  4. I am definitely going to read it. Thanks for the suggestion ma'am.

  5. I like it very much..
I am really happy to see you again on blog..😊

    1. I am happy to see you on my blog too :)

  6. it's true that our outlook can make difference . This is common at every household. (yes, there are some exceptions,I respect them . I'm always surprised with the thought how they keep their home neat and tidy?) Ok,but it is good habit and I have to follow them. This habit keeps us fresh, it helps to boost our confidence in work also.

I really like this blog. thanks.

  7. Lovely idea,Preeti 👍

  8. Lovely idea mam and it looks so good

  9. Good one, Preethi, but what about the dangers of any sparks and the possibility of fire?

    1. Grounds AC power with 3-line protection through all 8 sockets
Maximum Spike Current: 13,000 Amps ! It has never ever sparked as the response time is less than a nano second. Hence I don't think there's a danger of spark as it will fuse before that. Have used it for more than 3 years now :) But if you are afraid, I guess you shouldn't use it!! :)

  10. very nice mam, btw according to you how a mother should be and adjust according to situation of child ?

  11. Woww that's a great idea .

  12. The good and clean energy tidying up releases is addictive :) But aren't artists known to be messy ?

  13. Hi Preeti! This is very creative. Nice to see this and since I buy stuff on Amazon all the time, perhaps I will try to create the same thing. Not sure if it will turn out like yours though...It's perfect!

Re-store : A delightful little shop in Whitefield, Bangalore.

All of us are guilty, at least to some extent  of hoarding stuff. We hold on to old things--be it clothes, books, utensils, footwear, knick-knacks or some such, that form the minutiae of our daily lives. Many a time these add to the the clutter too. Rare is the home which looks like the above pic.

I am a huge fan of Marie Kondo, and I highly recommend her book The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up  which is more than just a book.

It is an entire philosophy, and a new approach. I read the book back to back, and immediately put into use the methods described in the book. I must tell you how wonderful I felt! I never thought that I could be that organised.

Clearing clutter, and the stuff that you no longer have use for, does release 'blocked energy.' There is no scientific or rational explanation for this. I only know that it works for me. Any Feng Shui practitioner and  loads of Eastern Schools of belief will confirm this.

I always make it a point to give away things I no longe…

A Valentines Day special! (Win a trip to Mumbai, and attend Women Writers Fest with me!)

How have you been? How has the new year started for you? I hope all is good.

This is  my first post of 2019 (God, where did January go? And where did two weeks of Feb vanish?!) and it's on Valentine's day.

I have a lot of news to share with you, though if you have been following me on Instagram or Twitter or facebook, this isn't really 'new news' to you. I have decided to read a 100 books this year! Yes, a hundred :)

And guess what--I have already finished 13, and am now on my 14th. This is probably one of the reasons, I didn't blog earlier. I was too caught up in reading (and writing my next book). If you want to see all the books I have read, and what I thought of them, I have put them all in the highlights on my instagram page.

You don't need an Instagram account to  view it. Just click on the link, and then look at circular  icon, which is the highlights. I have named it 'Books'. I have also shared tips to read more, My favourite books o…

Why I cannot speak for free at your event.

This post is similar to the semi-rant post that I posted a while back--- Why I cannot read the Stuff you send me.  Once again, I am compelled to write this post, after a long e-mail exchanges.

I am writing this post so that the next time I get a request, I can just send this link and avoid repetitive email exchanges or explanations.

I get invites from MANY colleges and many corporate organisations, throughout the country. The requests are many more than I can handle.

'Ma'am, we are your huge fans..We will display all your books...we will take care of your travel and stay but we don't have a budget for speaker fees.. We must tell you that  X,Y and Z, including Abdul Kalam spoke  at our college and they did not charge any fees .'.  This is the general tone of emails. Many  of the college festivals that invite me  have music concerts and would not hesitate to spend huge amounts for  paying the singers and flying the performers in. And so, what shocks me is that the colleg…
