Winners of card-giveaway. Blog marathon post 30.

So finally we come to the last day of the Blog marathon!
Image from freedigitalphotos.net

Oh my God, this has been exhausting to say the least and to be honest I am secretly relieved!  It was so hard to come up with a new post every day.  A new GOOD post that is, not just a filler post. There were times when I was so exhausted that I fell asleep a few times while writing the posts. It was that tiring. (especially as I had to travel for my book events)

But it was wonderful to have you along on the ride.

I must make a special mention of Anu, Gayu, Shachi  who commented on almost ALL my posts.Thank you so much!  I did read and look forward to all the comments even though I could not reply. The comments really helped me to keep going!

And a big thank you to all, of you who read me regularly too. (The stats are sky-rocketing and I am honoured and flattered!) Thanks for the love folks!

I had mentioned that the winners of the card giveaway ( Blog marathon post 23) would be announced on the last day, picked by random number generator.

Here are the two numbers that  the Random number generator threw up.

*Drum Rolls please*
Number 40 and Number 42 !!

I just scrolled through my comments and discovered that 42 was picked by PK and 40 was picked by Grigory.

PK and Grigory--please identify yourselves and mail me your postal addresses!
 PS (at) preetishenoy(dot) com

Thank you to all the others who took part too! In case you want to buy my cards (i sold six of them yesterday! some of them cant be replicated) you can have a look here.

Now I will go back to working on my fourth book!
My third book 'Tea for two and a piece of cake' is currently on all the best-seller lists (Infibeam, Flipkart, Asian Age)

I will be updating the blog regularly. (not every day of course. That is toooooooooooo taxing!) :)

So will see you around! :)

Bye for now and enjoy your weekend!

An easy way to walk more than 5 kms a day (and other interesting things)

This is the first post for 2018.

How has your year started? Mine started very peacefully. I don't believe in partying to welcome the new year. I like to begin it quietly. We have a tradition of lighting the lamp at midnight, and offering prayers of gratitude for all the blessings. This year too we did just that. We spent time together, as a family; I loved and cherished  every bit of it.

Last year, I had started a Reading wall.
I am happy that I managed to fill up my reading wall, and I read forty books last year! For the most memorable ones, see my last post. This year too, I have put up a similar reading wall.
I have already finished reading two books. I loved them both. One was The Nightingale by Kritsin Hannah. It is easily one of the best books I have read in my entire life.
The other was The Gift by Cecelia Ahern.
Out of the two, I definitely liked The Nightingale better.  A good book should transport you to the world of the protagonists, and you sh…

What 2017 brought me.

We are nearly at the end of 2017.
Looking at back at the year, several proud moments come to my mind.  One of the most recent ones being interviewed by BBC world, with an astonishing reach of over 400 million people in over 200 countries!  The interview was shot at Birmingham, and of course I wore a saree, even though it was freezing. It was a half an hour sit-down, in depth interview. Rebecca Jones interviewed me.

What I found surprising was that the interview was telecast 8 times!

My apologies for not informing my blog readers, in advance about the telecast time---but in my defence, I had announced it several times on my Twitter and  on myFacebook and on myInstagram too.
On my instagram, I keep posting pics of what I have been up to throughout the day, the books I am currently reading, quotes that I like,  interesting sights I find etc---basically anything that catches my fancy. I quite like Instagram stories . So follow me there, and see my stories for some fun stuff.

Post my BBC …

Where I talk in detail about my writing process

Hi there,

We are already in the middle of January! Half of January has gone by. Have you been keeping up your new year resolutions?  I have!

I read an article recently in Times of India  which said that studies have shown that mid January is the month when couples fight the most, split up the most and in general, feel miserable. This is mostly because the euphoria of a new year has died down, a few resolutions have already been broken, and a kind of weariness after all the festivity has set in. (Click on the link to know more about it)

I have made a reading wall this year too. I am happy to report that I am currently on my 4th book, this year. I have just finished reading The Pearl that Broke its Shell by Nadia Hashimi and I loved it. I did feel it was very miserable and depressing in many places, with absolutely no hope. One gets drawn into the bleakness, wretchedness and despondency and it envelops you. There's no escape till you finish the last word. If you are already in a de…
