The Pune launch and Tuesday prompt.

Was in Pune for a launch on 18th feb at Crossword. Senapati Bapat Marg. It went off really well. For some lovely pictures from the launch go here.

I am truly overwhelmed by the warm reception I got in Pune, especially from many of the readers of this blog.

A big thank you to all who attended.

One of my closest friends, Mayank Mittal drove all the way from Mumbai to attend this launch. It was a complete surprise to me! I never expected him there and I was so darn delighted!  (and he had to close his eyes for that one snap :) and I am glowing like a 1000 watt bulb, I know :) )

Of course Satish was there too (he clicked the above snap)--he was SO proud of me  and I do feel very grateful for the presence of genuine well-wishers that my life seems to be filled with. Many people who turned up for the launch told Satish that they are big fans of his writing and that he should consider writing  a book as well.

The Media was there too, clicking away pictures after pictures. Nitin Lawate clicked some amazing pictures of me and he was very kind to share them with me. He is a superb photographer and you can check out his portfolio  by clicking HERE.

I specifically liked this picture that Nitin clicked of me during the audience interaction(without my knowledge of course, it was completely candid)

The next event is at Delhi, on 26th, 2PM at Pragati Maidan during the World Book Fair. You are welcome to attend! :)

And oh--I nearly forgot, on Saturday, I was interviewed live on radio (Chennai FM--Chennai's only English music station) and it was a great conversation. Will post audio clip soon.

And now for the much awaited Tuesday prompt. (Again, I am travelling and will not be able to leave individual comments this time too but I do read every single link that is submitted)

Write three sentences about yourself,  first sentence starting with T., second with  E and third with A
(as it spells TEA). If you want to write more, write four more sentences but they have to start with C, A, K and E respectively. (CAKE)

Interesting? :) Dive in and take part!
And don't forget to leave me a comment after submitting your link.

  8. Hey Preeti, finished reading your book the same was very engrossing, and very much on-the-mark, without unnecessary drama; a tale of courage and also of hope. It was indeed about how life goes on, no matter what, and we need to flow with it.

Life is so unpredictable. Stop judging! #Sridevi

This morning I woke up to the news of the legendary Sridevi, being no more at 54. I have grown up watching her movies. She is a tremendously talented actor.

I have been reading so many write-ups about her. There are whatsapp forwards, blog posts, news reports, status updates and so much more.

What I do not understand is how people comment on her personal life. They have watched her movies, or met her at an event, or know her through 'friends of friends' etc. They talk about how she 'tried to hold on to her beauty', how she went under the scalpel, how she was stressed etc etc.
Everything about her is open game --no matter what the truth is.

I am saddened reading these discussions.

I lost my father to a cardiac arrest. He was healthy,  fit as a fiddle, had none of the age related ailments and looked so much younger for his years. He had twice the energy of someone half his age. Even on the day he passed away, he had gone for his usual 6 km walk. He was just 66.  It was…

Re-store : A delightful little shop in Whitefield, Bangalore.

All of us are guilty, at least to some extent  of hoarding stuff. We hold on to old things--be it clothes, books, utensils, footwear, knick-knacks or some such, that form the minutiae of our daily lives. Many a time these add to the the clutter too. Rare is the home which looks like the above pic.

I am a huge fan of Marie Kondo, and I highly recommend her book The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up  which is more than just a book.

It is an entire philosophy, and a new approach. I read the book back to back, and immediately put into use the methods described in the book. I must tell you how wonderful I felt! I never thought that I could be that organised.

Clearing clutter, and the stuff that you no longer have use for, does release 'blocked energy.' There is no scientific or rational explanation for this. I only know that it works for me. Any Feng Shui practitioner and  loads of Eastern Schools of belief will confirm this.

I always make it a point to give away things I no longe…

Be that man Who looks his woman in the eye when he gets home And says ‘You look beautiful, darling.’ And means it. Because this thing you have going is Sacred
Be that man Who offers his woman a back rub, a glass of wine Or coffee Or simply some time and space Where she can be herself. Because this thing you have going is Sacred

Be that man Who doesn’t make jokes about his woman, behind her back Because she is too precious, too dear Some things you do not joke about Because this thing you have going is Sacred.
Be that man Who would drop everything in a jiffy to be beside her Not because she cannot manage But because you know how much she hates to do it all by herself Tell her she is strong and brave, And hold her hand Because this thing you have going is Sacred ______________________ **************© 2018 Preeti ShenoyFor more poems click here.
