Watercolour or Watercolor.I love it!!

What a splendid thing watercolor is to express atmosphere and distance, so that the figure is surrounded by air and can breathe in it”
--Vincent Van Gogh

Water colours have always fascinated me.I love it for its sheer brilliance of colours, and the speed with which, you have to work.It is so difficult to capture that play of light. This is a simple landscape that I completed yesterday.I have used ONLY 5 colours, in the whole painting.

Have been staring at it, ever since. Still not tired!

  2. Great! :)
Watercolours are difficult! I'd probably make a big blur of blue and that would be my painting. lol
Or red maybe, I'm feeling very fiery today.

  8. Why would I delete the comment?
It was a lovely comment, even if not meant for me.
I was just popping on here now to make sure that you knew that a comment for you was posted on my blog.

Anyway, the painting is beautiful. I do that too -- after I paint something, I stare at it for a long time. I have a painting I did in the 80's hanging in my room, and I still stare at that one, too...

God I wish i could create art like yours. It is much slower to create emotion in words, but people can look at a painting and be taken to emotion in the space of a second.

Mr.J: I applied a awash first.Waited for it to dry. Then did the whole thing.Total time taken, including drying time would be about 35 minutes approximately.

  20. one of the best so far in my eyes of course knowing very well that the really arty types of paintings dont interest me so much. This is right up my street and knowing you did this in less than 15 minutes is a masterpiece. Want this kind of a painting done on a large board, framed and put up in the drawing room. Fantastic pic....
