Pictures to bring you joy

“Life is full of beauty. Notice it. Notice the bumble bee, the small child, and the smiling faces. Smell the rain, and feel the wind. Live your life to the fullest potential, and fight for your dreams.”
--Ashley Smith

I clicked these pictures recently--some in my garden, some around the complex I live. I hope they bring you as much joy as it brought me.

As I sit on this bench in the evenings, the air is filled with chirpings of so many birds, all returning home, done for the day. There is so much peace.I take a deep breath and savour these moments. Oh--It is a such joy and a blessing to be alive and healthy.

I love this colour.It screams for attention.Makes you notice it.Makes me feel.Deep.

My garden fence is full of these. They live only for a day.By evening, they have wilted. The next day, they fall.Such a short life--but, so much beauty.

  3. It takes extraordinary people to find joy in pictures. And after all, we're only ordinary men...

  4. Etain_Lavena :Thank you.

    Freelance cynic:I agree.Nature does rock.

Tyler:Does it mean that I'm extraordinary or does it mean that you are indifferent to pictures?

  7. Ah Spring is coming!
Flowers are blooming over here too and it's funny because all of those seem to exist over here too. The last ones for instance are called 'corriolas' in portuguese.
It's imperative to notice beauty and to feel everything around us. There's a portuguese poet that is the poet of the senses and sensations, it's called Cesário Verde - if I could find one poem translated to english I'd send it to you. :)

  10. It means both...it's tough to actually SEE pictures with a constant flux of images flashing past you all day... the pictures lose their power to create any sort of emotional response... this is part of the reason i think is behind the popularity of multi-media... it takes animations, videos, sounds, to get the point across... which is why kids have stopped reading books, they prefer to watch television or movies... as for me, the pictures had no effect on me...

  11. You are a Queen, Ps. You are royal to the subject of beauty.

In the first picture, I love how the grass is permitted to become some of the bricks along the walkway. Awesome.

  18. I don't understand how you can be in a time zone and a half. Here it is 9:04 pm. There, it is 10:34 am. Do they do that there? Here we only cut it up into even hours. I know that Snavy is hopefully asleep as it is 12:04 am on the eastern U.S. coast.

Please explain. I am living to know.

  25. From eyes accustomed to an English winter, the vivid, vibrant colours leapt off the screen at me. Reminding me of the first time i went to India and the wall of heat that hit me as the aeroplane doors opened to such a wall of heat i had never experienced before and more intense for just having left new years day in england!!

Good to rremember that life goes on in other places and that all over the world there is beauty, even if our own lives seem dark and cold at times.

Thank you for sharing your colours and beauty and joy!!
