Back!

Picture clicked by me in Kerala at my mother's cottage

"No man needs a vacation so much as the person who has just had one " said Elber Hubbard.

It makes perfect sense to me now. We got back to our home in UK, from India late last night (and we had to change five trains from Heathrow terminal to get here, thanks to disruption on two lines on London tube), lugging three enormously heavy suitcases and two not so enormous but heavy back-packs.

Their combined weight was nothing compared to the heaviness of my  feelings and my longing for all things Indian.

I seemed to have misplaced my heart this time, somewhere in India. I had noticed it was missing in the Aircraft itself. Who knows, like delayed baggage, it may eventually find its way back.

Meanwhile, the strength  of  happy memories, re-living the marvellous time I had with all my close friends scattered in various cities across India and a quick phone call to them to tell them I am not-so-okay but okay, keeps me going . I had met each of them and truly cherished the time I got with them.  (I do feel blessed too to have so many friends who deeply care.)

Jet lagged and exhausted I have still managed to attack my e-mail  and clear the 300 odd messages that had arrived and were waiting (im)patiently for me so that they could tumble out, surprise and drown me when I opened my inbox like little jack in the boxes, the scoundrels.  But I side stepped them and they have all been dealt with in the manner they deserve--responded to, trashed or forwarded. Good thing the messages don't have voices else the decibel level of their abuses would have probably shattered my ear drums. [Along with already being sans a heart, I'd have become deaf too.] But  hey all is well.(said with a shrug)

Life might be limping but it is definitely arriving. :-)  The super- fantastic news from my end is that my second book deal has been signed (I met up with my publisher too) and the book which is a full length fiction will be out in February 2011. I am now working on my 3rd book which will be a '2nd  jar of bubblegums and candies'. (Oh yes, it  indeed feels marvellous to actually say that I am now working on my 3rd book)

A big thanks to YOU who have been reading everything I write here and encouraging too. I'd have never been able to do it without all of you :-) ) The number of subscribers of this blog now exceed 800! I am honoured. Humbled. Touched.

You will be seeing regular updates on this blog now on. My marvellous tiger lillies have bloomed again, this time a burning shade of  flaming yellow after the fiery reds. The garden needs weeding though. Twenty one days of neglect has taken its toll and there are huge weeds where grass should have been.

Makes me think that it is a lot like relationships. To keep them going you need to water them with love. You need to weed out the not-so-good bits.

And sometimes a little bit of love is all you need.

Oh wait--I hear a knock on the door..I think my heart has just come  marching back :-)

a suggestion on traveling to and from heathrow - use national express coach service as first preference.. saves a lot of hassle (not a advert , speaking from personal exprience)

hope to hear more from you
