Little things that make life worth living

This was the scene very near my home last evening. We were on our way to a movie (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. I liked the movie a lot) , when I asked Satish to stop the car as I wanted to click this picture. I am glad I did.

I think it is very important to celebrate the smallest gifts of life. Like a sunset. A fleeting moment of a butterfly on a flower. The salty air of the ocean and the endlessly receding waves. A phone call from a good friend. An email from a loved one. A good book. An engaging movie that makes you think. A warm cup of tea on a cold winter afternoon.

These, for me, are the things that make life worth living.
I relish it.
And am grateful too for the smallest of gifts that life sends me way.

You?
What are the things for you that make life worth living? If you share I am listening.

  2. Any natural movement is worth the stop in life.. I feel if we continue walking ahead in life without stopping by and looking at the beautiful world around us, then our life is worthless and happiness is lost..!

  7. you are lucky to have such a husband, who listens cares to stop for you . Many times we live families where they are too indulged in their lives , where they dont listen for their dear ons, esp. little ones. But since they are are our parents we have to respect them and let go of our small happiness.

  10. I try to do so. I am a very patient and optimistic person and feel good about it. I wrote an article about finding happiness in little things that life offers and I really mean it. But, sometimes I can't help feeling a little low (I think it's normal) and today was that kind of day. I didn't want to read 'my' articles (That I often write on my blog) so came to your blog. I'm glad I re-read this post. Feeling better. Thank you very much Preeti! Best wishes always...:)
