Signing of books and the Grand Launch--It happens for a Reason.

So it has been really crazy, the last few days.

My home was taken over by thousands of copies of  It Happens for a Reason. Yes, the book signing madness was on--full swing. I signed thousand and thousands of copies.

Worked for about 36 hours non-stop, with short breaks and also a 6 hour break to sleep.

It was just like the book signing last time.

It is indeed back-breaking work.

But posts popping up all over social media, like this one expressing delight at having received a signed copy, makes it worth it.

I am very happy to let you know that the book has gone into reprint, even before the first print-run is out!

To celebrate 'It happens for a Reason' we are having a grand launch tomorrow (13th December 2014,Saturday) at Bangalore. It is an invite only event, and in case you wish to attend it, you can request an invite by sending a mail to the Westland Team : invite(at)
We have a limited number of invites up for grabs.

For those of you who have already requested and got invites, I will see you all tomorrow!

Will post launch pictures soon.

Till then ciao--and have a great weekend :)

I want to buy the book "It Happens for a Reason" with your signature on it and hence bought it on Flipkart in the month of October, but i didn't receive the signed copy. 3. Hi Ramesh,
I think Flipkart was offering to 500 lucky winners and Amazon was offering signed copies for all pre-orders. I don't handle logistics or mail out books individually as it would be impossible for me to do so.

  9. Congrats Preeti. I am so happy for everything happening in your life. I am one of your old readers who still happens to read your blog posts sporadically , when I get time. I decided to spend my little time that in a day while taking care of my of special little boy, on things close to my heart . The first thing that went to the list of things to stop was " taking time to comment". I kept that promise from 2011 breaking that vow, to type few words to say that I am reading and enjoying all the good things happening to you . You deserve every bit of it since you put so much of your heart and worked hard to reach this place. But I tried to wish Purvi on her birthday blog post in 2011 my computer acted so weird and crashed three times after writing a long comment. I took it as a sign from god and stopped then there. I am still going to continue the same policy with comments but I couldn't contain myself when I read this book launch. I am so happy for you dear Preeti. With prayful wishes

    1. Dear Bethany/CS

Life is so unpredictable. Stop judging! #Sridevi

This morning I woke up to the news of the legendary Sridevi, being no more at 54. I have grown up watching her movies. She is a tremendously talented actor.

I have been reading so many write-ups about her. There are whatsapp forwards, blog posts, news reports, status updates and so much more.

What I do not understand is how people comment on her personal life. They have watched her movies, or met her at an event, or know her through 'friends of friends' etc. They talk about how she 'tried to hold on to her beauty', how she went under the scalpel, how she was stressed etc etc.
Everything about her is open game --no matter what the truth is.

I am saddened reading these discussions.

I lost my father to a cardiac arrest. He was healthy,  fit as a fiddle, had none of the age related ailments and looked so much younger for his years. He had twice the energy of someone half his age. Even on the day he passed away, he had gone for his usual 6 km walk. He was just 66.  It was…

Re-store : A delightful little shop in Whitefield, Bangalore.

All of us are guilty, at least to some extent  of hoarding stuff. We hold on to old things--be it clothes, books, utensils, footwear, knick-knacks or some such, that form the minutiae of our daily lives. Many a time these add to the the clutter too. Rare is the home which looks like the above pic.

I am a huge fan of Marie Kondo, and I highly recommend her book The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up  which is more than just a book.

It is an entire philosophy, and a new approach. I read the book back to back, and immediately put into use the methods described in the book. I must tell you how wonderful I felt! I never thought that I could be that organised.

Clearing clutter, and the stuff that you no longer have use for, does release 'blocked energy.' There is no scientific or rational explanation for this. I only know that it works for me. Any Feng Shui practitioner and  loads of Eastern Schools of belief will confirm this.

I always make it a point to give away things I no longe…

Be that man Who looks his woman in the eye when he gets home And says ‘You look beautiful, darling.’ And means it. Because this thing you have going is Sacred
Be that man Who offers his woman a back rub, a glass of wine Or coffee Or simply some time and space Where she can be herself. Because this thing you have going is Sacred

Be that man Who doesn’t make jokes about his woman, behind her back Because she is too precious, too dear Some things you do not joke about Because this thing you have going is Sacred.
Be that man Who would drop everything in a jiffy to be beside her Not because she cannot manage But because you know how much she hates to do it all by herself Tell her she is strong and brave, And hold her hand Because this thing you have going is Sacred ______________________ **************© 2018 Preeti ShenoyFor more poems click here.
