A Hundred Little Flames --2

Ayan has a domineering father. Ayan is a guy who has made some mistakes in the past, like failing to clear his class twelve exams, the first time.
He has worked hard since then, but his father cannot see that. His father controls him, and helps him all the time. Ayan hates it. But he is too terrified of his father to speak up.

Meet Ayan in A Hundred Little Flames

And if you know any parent(s) like Ayan's father, tell me about them in comments.

  1. Well my father is not at all like Ayan's . He says that my happiness matters more than anything else. He is the one who encourages me the most to read more and more books. According to him reading is the best thing you can do. He does scold me at times though. But I love him more than anyone else.😃
Hundred little blog posts is such a good idea. Hope you had a good day ma'am.
    Take care.

    2. Thanks to you Preeti for acknowledging my comment. I was afraid to write even that since parents are Gods in our culture, and expressing our unhappiness being with them is often taken as a sign of arrogant young generation. And I know you absolutely hate any kind of negativity ( :-) I follow you everywhere *ha ha*)

Not everyone, including parents understand the other side of the story. I strongly believe that your book will shed some light on this. In 'Life is What You Make It' you dealt with it in a very subliminal level, fell in love with you from there on. All the best!

  7. I was thinking that as parents we also tend to control our children the way we want them to grow or do things. Definitely we should learn to let them grow.. Let them fly.. [Easy said than done] :)
Have preordered he book.. waiting to get it :)

  8. My father was never like that of Ayan's. When my father was alive, he used to be extremely nice to me. I don't think he would have raised his voice at me either. Instead, he would tell me in a soft and calm manner - just like his nature. Mom was always the one who used to control each and everything I did. Those days, I did not like it at all, but after growing up, I realized she was just disciplining me to be a good daughter and also to be a better person in the world. Surely, if I was let loose and had the freedom to do what I wanted, I would not have ended up like I am today. So I thankful to my parents for the wonderful role they played/playing.
