Have you met Aniket? (post 6)

Today's post is about Aniket. Have you met him?  Do you know anyone like him? Or if you are a guy, are you like him?
(Do watch the above video--It's a 30 second introduction to Aniket)

I had shared the above video on facebook, and I got an interesting response from a reader. This is what he said.

You can see my reply too.

The Hindu had given my book an excellent review, praise which is hard to earn if you write commercial fiction. I quote from the article:

Shenoy’s book, on the other hand, is a pleasant discovery. Her deft handling of a nicely rounded and original plot is impressive. Chance brings a 30-something woman, Nidhi, and a 20-something man together, and they become friends. Shenoy gives us complex characters with complicated lives, and her handle on different kinds of relationships is strong. Her writing is simple; too simple in fact, with almost no layers and subtleties. All of the punch, then, lies in the story and its insights. You find yourself rooting for her protagonists, and feeling none of the irritation of reading about damsels in distress.
And today I also took a screen-shot of the reviews on amazon:

Any author feels great when they get terrific reviews.
For me, this was especially great, as this book wasn't easy to write. There was a lot going on in my personal life at that time.
Hence, this victory feels  even more sweet.
(Incidentally the book has already sold more than 40,000 copies since release)

If you are one of those who contributed to the success, a hearltfelt thank you.

That's me right now :)

See you tomorrow!
And yes, if you haven't yet read it, here's a GREAT offer.
Goodnight my lovely reader.
I will meet you again tomorrow.
Don't forget to leave me comments, tell me your thoughts about the book. (but don't give away the ending or the plot twists please!)
lots of love
Preeti

And i agree to akshay's comment-the best thing about your books is that they are very relatable..I feel like I've known ankita, nidhi and all others for so long. Also another thing i noticed about your books are that all the central characters of your books have names starting with the letter 'A'..be it Ankita, Abhishek, Ankit, Ankush, Akash, Aman, Ankit or the latest Akshay😁
And ma'am there's really magic in your writing.

  4. Congratulations on the review from The Hindu. You have a simple but very effective and interesting way of communication. It's indeed magical! I read many of your books just because there is almost no extra effort needed when reading them. Can read them even when I am super exhausted. I will be meeting Aniket too sometime soon :).

  6. Yeah..! Thats true. Me too felt the same like Akshay and also the same books. I always like to read motivational books only rather than novels, then I inspired by the title "Life is what you make it" and bought it in amazon for a great offer last november. I loved it and also I gifted that book to some of my colleagues too. After reading that book, I became a bookaholic of your books. Then googled your name and searched for all of your books, so I found your book "It's all in the planets" which was recently released that time. Got a copy of that book and read it. I feel that love, friendship, pain like that happens to me or to my close friends. The highlight of this book is that Daily forecasts, really much interesting one. And also a small and much loved character is Nidhi's step mother, loved the understandings between them. After I completed this book me too searching for some Relationship coach(Hahaha...). Now I ordered your "The Secret Wish list" very excited to read. Thank so much for writings :-) <3

  7. Wow! Congratulations on the amazing reviews from The Hindu, your readers at Amazon, etc. It must be such a wonderful feeling to see positive reviews about a book which you have put your heart and soul into. I had bought the book at the time of the launch and read just a few chapters after that. After seeing your post today, I started reading the book again and cannot wait to see how the characters are, and perhaps to see which character I can relate too! Once again, congratulations on your success Preeti! Well deserved!!

  10. I started reading your book from Life is what you make it then went on to The one you cannot have and next was It happens for a reason then The Secret wish list and lately finished reading Its all in the planets . Your books got on to me like an addiction and I m in love with the way you describe each character in detail ,it's like you can visualise that character around you . My personal favourite is The Secret Wishlist n it's like a revolution for typical Indian wife . Mostly men are like Diksha's husband and unfortunately I know so many living a life at their husband' disposal. Ma'am I still have the flavour of each of your book read so far and each flavour is discinctive yet relished throughly. Thanks for entertaining. God bless
