BNLF--a blogging conference like no other!

Sometimes in life, you have  journeys that you start on, where you never know where they take you. You start on them hesitatingly, unsure of the destination. You keep going as long as you can see the road in front of you, lit with a little torchlight at times and by the sun, at times. There are moments when you doubt what you are doing. There are times when you stumble and wonder if you are lost. But you don't turn back and abandon the road half way through. You keep going. No matter how hard it is. No matter how exhausted you are. Because you are hooked. It's the one thing that you continue doing.

My blogging has been one such journey. I started this blog on 22nd October 2006. It has been nine long years now and I am now no longer the anonymous, unknown blogger that I was when I first began. The journey for me has be beautiful, exhilarating, terrifying, exciting and the magnificent--all at the same time.

And I am going to be talking about this journey at a totally fabulous International blogging conference BNLF 2015 ! (Click on link and scroll down the page for details) . Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden would be a keynote speaker too.

I am really excited about this, as I was one of those who had attended  one of the first meets that Indiblogger had  organised way back in 2008 and what is more had even blogged about it! If you want to travel back in time to read that post, click here.

You can check out my speaker profile here: https://www.bnlf.com/preeti-shenoy
And also read a curtain raiser here.

I shall definitely share with you, pictures from the event.

And yes, thank you for traveling with me on my journey!  You, dear reader, have been a great companion.
And like the movie line goes 'Everybody needs a co-pilot.'
Some, you get to meet  them at conferences like BNLF  :)

A lovely session at Start-o-nomics 2015, Delhi.

So I have just got back from Delhi, where I had been invited as one of the main speakers, at Start-o-nomics 2015, which was a start-up and an internship fair organised by the  students of the Economics Department of Dyal Singh college, Delhi.

The experience was fabulous--easily one of the best I have had, where I have been invited to speak. (and I have spoken at IITs, IIMs and corporates like KPMG, Infosys, Accenture and many more). Right from the mail where they invited me,  to the last minute detailed itinerary they planned for me, to the smart young lad who came to pick me up at the airport, to the warm welcome I got---all of it , I would say it was impeccable. They were so well organized in terms of planning, arrangements at the venue and the publicity both before and after the events.

I got a standing ovation, as soon as I went up on stage! I spoke about my journey from an unknown blogger to one of India's highest selling authors, and also talked about 4 things that helped me and 2 essential thins that you have to do, if you want to be a writer.

The reception that my talk  got was exceptional. I share with you some pictures, which would give you a good idea about it all.
The packed auditorium. There were students from other colleges in Delhi as well.

Giving the talk.

The head of the Economics department giving me a token of appreciation.

Signing books.

You can see all the happy smiles here :)

The team that made it all happen.

With volunteers and other students.

And this is clicked, just before I left the college,  finally saying a bye, heading back home.

As a writer, it is a LOT of effort to travel to Delhi from Bangalore, just for a talk. It is also a loss of at least 3working days.

But great interactions like this one, makes it all worthwhile and makes it so memorable--both for me as well as for the students who were there that day.
Thank you guys for the warmth, love and the superb hospitality and unforgettable moments. I really appreciate it.
Will definitely stop by your college, next time I am in Delhi.
