Everything has it's time

time photo: Time Time.jpg

Of all the things that my grandmother used to tell me, one thing that I find reminding myself again and again is "Everything has it's time."

This I think is very true. No matter how hard you try, some things do not work out until it's 'time has come'. Whether you are trying hard for that coveted job, or whether you are trying to find your life-partner or whether you are trying to have a baby or whether you are trying to get into a university or a college of your choice, there are some things which are just beyond your control.

Life comes with no guarantees, with no certainties. This is something that I can vouch for. Life takes twists and turns that you never even imagined even in your wildest dreams. It has happened to me. It has happened to so many people I know. And perhaps it has even happened to you.

Mostly, when we are going through a troubled time, what we forget is the bigger picture. During such times, an exercise that I find useful is to rewind back three years and see where you were. Don't your worries of that time, seem irrelevant today? Perhaps you worried for nothing?

Time does have a way of taking care of everything.

And if something you longed for hasn't yet come to you,  you can be certain  it is because there is something better in store and you are being propelled on a path that you otherwise might not have otherwise explored.

Time does have a way of taking care of everything // I remember this advice you gave me when we met and I am taking it seriously. Hoping for the best as well as preparing for the worst!

  3. I can so vouch for this! No matter how much efforts one takes in a direction, if it is not meant to be then it never happens. I strongly believe in fate and destiny. Agreed that one cannot always blame the destiny and stop working towards a goal... but sometimes things are way beyond one's control.

  4. Everything does has its time. Totally agree with u. Somethings happen with time n some dont even after many number of years. The harder part in this is waiting for things to happen n not knowing whether to hold on or let go. #complexitiesoflife ;)

  5. Well said Madam! But I believe, you should not lie idle. You must keep doing your work, let fate take its own time. Who knows we might bring down the time it takes to fructify! And because it takes time to realize, it almost all the times bring tears when we achieve it. Love life. Never bored of it.

Anyways keep writing Madam. Love your writing. It inspires me to write too.

  6. An urdu ashar says,
"WAQT SE PEHLE AUR UMEED SE ZYADA, KABHI KISI KO KUCH NAHI MILTA"
I agree with you that we cannot act on the things beyond our control. 'These' factors are nothing but facts which we need to accept. The bigger picture, I perceive, is the ability to act / to respond in / to such situations, that is what is the true output of one's life, which is way ahead of one's life goals.
And if one's intuition does not let him / her to accept / believe (may be out of personal bias) then, we need to rely on HOPE ! ! And when passion is supplemented by hope in the worst times of the journey, then open the doors of unconventional routes.

Good luck to all of us.

  12. This is so true. I don't know Preeti, but each of your post or novel come at a time when I need them the most. May be we need to wait and watch to let the events unfold at their pace. Honestly, situations that existed three years back seem so irrelevant today.
