The Secret Wish List. A tale about following your heart.

Yesterday was another special day. I finally held the copy of my new book 'The secret wishlist' in my hands.

After I posed for the pic, I promptly burst into tears. Missed my father too much.
It is at times like these, I miss him the most. Yes, I can console myself saying he is watching from up above or wherever, but it just isn't the same. But anyway, there is nothing much I can do, so I quietened up after a while  and resumed with life.

Then my publishers sent me the book-trailer. It is one minute and forty seconds and it so totally captures the essence of the book! Here it is. Do watch it with speakers on :)

This is a tale about following your heart and it is also about friendship and true love. It also deals with parental expectations. Doing what you want to do versus doing what will make your parents happy. I think at some point in our lives, we always compromise and try and make our parents happy.
Is there a balance? Are there repurcussions?
Why do extra marital affairs happen?
What makes a happy family?
Is there really true love or is it just a chimera?
Why should you speak up for what you believe in?

These are some of the complex issues that the book deals with, as the story unfolds.

Like my previous books, this one too is based loosely on the lives of people I know. (but of course a lot of details have been changed).

Can you guess the two cities in India where this book is set?

Do watch the trailer and leave me a comment.

I shall pick two comments using the random generator and will send you a handmade quilled card in appreciation if you get both the cities right :).

Addendum:

Winners have been picked and announced in a new post. Thanks for taking part!

Re-store : A delightful little shop in Whitefield, Bangalore.

All of us are guilty, at least to some extent  of hoarding stuff. We hold on to old things--be it clothes, books, utensils, footwear, knick-knacks or some such, that form the minutiae of our daily lives. Many a time these add to the the clutter too. Rare is the home which looks like the above pic.

I am a huge fan of Marie Kondo, and I highly recommend her book The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up  which is more than just a book.

It is an entire philosophy, and a new approach. I read the book back to back, and immediately put into use the methods described in the book. I must tell you how wonderful I felt! I never thought that I could be that organised.

Clearing clutter, and the stuff that you no longer have use for, does release 'blocked energy.' There is no scientific or rational explanation for this. I only know that it works for me. Any Feng Shui practitioner and  loads of Eastern Schools of belief will confirm this.

I always make it a point to give away things I no longe…

February is here, and so is my blog marathon!

Hey there!

All of you, the regular readers of this blog know that I do a blog marathon each year. It's a term coined by yours truly. It means that I will be posting a new entry, every single day, the whole of this month! So don't forget to hit 'subscribe' on top of this blog (see the button there? Right on top?) to get my posts right in your, inbox.

A lot of people tell me that they wait for my blog marathon. They write in and tell me that whenever I start my blog marathon, they start their day by reading my posts.

Thank you so much for that! A request--please do leave me comments, so that I know you have read it. Else it feels like I am talking to a wall :)  I will definitely try and reply to all the comments left in my comment box.

On some days, I will be posting the sketches I make.
On some days, it may be a short entry. On some other days, there might be longer posts.

My best friend's wedding :)

The above is where I am staying right now! It is an amazing place :)
I am here for the wedding of one of my closest friends.

You can see videos of me dancing on my Instagram account in my story (which will be available for 24 hours).

Here are some more snap shots from today.

How can any Indian wedding be complete without Mehndi?

As you can see from the above pics, as well as from my Insta feed, I am having a really really good time.

More updates tomorrow.
(I left home at 3.00 am today, as I had an early morning flight)

Stay tuned!
