Just let it be

A good friend of mine has a mantra to deal with things which are beyond our control.
"Let it be" he says.

He offers no advice,he does not attempt to give suggestions and he does not even pass judgements about whether one is doing the right thing or whether something else ought to have been done. He does not sympathise and does not say "Life is unfair" or that the other person was wrong or that it is a bummer.
He listens patiently instead and he just says, "Let it be."

And you know what? Surprisingly it works.

The next time, things go wrong, do not send out negativity into the universe.

Just let it be.

Do nothing.

Breathe deeply. Relax. Drink a glass of water (or hot chocolate).Go to a place which fills you with peace and comfort.Call a friend who exudes positivity.

But mostly, Just let it be.

  1. Your friend is a wise man....

Are you experimenting with new fonts or this new one is to stay? With the older one, I always felt I was reading out of your journal and had got quite used to it :).

  4. Sometimes trying to find a reason for everything leads us nowhere.

Its always better to leave it down and walk ahead. It may be tough initially, but eventually we all learn it

  5. Yep it IS a smart advice. But I'm so neurotic! I have to do some serious pranayama every time I want to let things go! :P

  7. A very brilliant advice....
we always tend to overreact to some situations and that gives us unnecessary stress and tension....
to just let it be and positively think that this too shall pass is the best thing to do....

  11. I agree totally. But i can say this at my age. when younger, you have more expectations from life, and dreams. Deep breathing and 'Let it Be' is a perfect safety valve for your discontent :)

  19. I am sure the advice works but not always. Not when you strongly feel about something and the other person doesn't.
