Unforgettable --Frozen moments.(writers Island 5)

We took off from India. We were on our way to UK. The plane had not yet landed. The pilot announced that it would land in Heathrow airport, in about 30 minutes and the local time was 5:30 am.

My watch was still on India time and it showed me 10:00am.I set it back. It felt funny to ‘go back’ in time.

Suspended in air, 30,000 feet above the ground,I wished I really could. Just to re-live those happy moments. Revel in them. Cherish them. Savour them and relish them.

But we cannot. Each moment that ticks by, is gone forever. Sometimes forgotten, other times, unforgettable. I guess that is why each picture tells a story.

I looked out of the window. The sun was just rising. It filled me with a sense of exhilaration.
It made me want to click a picture. And freeze this moment, in time.

I did.

  2. Fantastic photo. It has a powerful feel to it, as if the wing were cutting through time.
We have travelled a lot in our adult life, my husband and I, and I loved turning my watch ahead or back as we crossed into each new time zone. Sometimes going back to the day before or skipping ahead to tomorrow. It feels magical, as if I have discovered H.G. Well's time machine.

  3. When you're travelling, its those small defining moments that freezes within you. And you've taken such a beautiful moment to express it...it speaks a lot..

  4. It's amazing the feeling of peace that comes from 'above the clouds' removed from all the weighty problems of the Earth..except that is for gravity!

  9. I had a very similiar feeling when I boarded my first Lufthansa. But the feeling I had when it landed in chennai 2 years after that, was even more mesmerizing.
It felt like Chennai was a person wearing a dark party-wear with sodium vapor lamps like shining sequin work.
I was so happy, I removed the belt much before I should have.
Now, when I go on flight, I am just tired and catch a wink as soon as I get seated ;)

  17. and if you ever find a way to get back in time, please let me know. I wish to go back and re-live a few moments.

Perhaps go back and live in a hostel and play all day long ...

and may be do a few other things in a different way :)

wishes and dreams apart... thats a fantastic picture. Even at this age, i still love to sit at the window seat and stare at the outside skies.

More satisfying experience than sitting near the aisle with air hostess moving around in mini skirts! :P

  22. Aww, lovely!

I've been thinking that we can try to freeze visual moments with our cameras, we can record sounds in audio but we can never keep a smell with you forever. It's so final. It's so fragile.

hii.. I got you from Harini's blog and am really happy that i went through your blog.. really liking it.. :)

Now coming to this post.. must say the picture is beautiful.. nd ya.. going back in time gives a great feeling..( though literally wish we had the option to just rewind our lives).. I seriously believe that LIFE is living the PRESENT MOMENT.. TODAY is THE day.. just quoting a few lines from one of my posts (my friends call it poetry.. but i jst call it scribbling.. )

    "Today, I am Alive
    Tomorrow is a Dream
    Why do I still worry
Of the future I have not seen.."

    Keep posting.. *smiles*..

  28. Great photo - I especially love the horizon, the way it is glowing with the promise of a new day.

I always see time frozen in photographs. Sometimes it can be quite sad. I saw a photo last weekend of my niece in her new school uniform, she looked so happy. She was only at the school for one week before she was killed. The flip side, is that at least we will have that photo of her forever, to help us remember. I know, that you understand what I am talking about.
