Do Gods weep?

View from my terrace just before it rained heavily.

pregnant clouds waiting

like hearts

to pour sorrow.

  2. And the blog has changed again!
I had similar clouds today. I've got a headache to prove it. But why sorrow? Why not joy?

  3. Ah...rain clouds..looks more like an English landscape!..of course I sent those clouds over too you as we've had them long enough here!

  4. Diya: Some sorrows just cannot be washed away.

Devil Mood:Since you did not sing praises of my new blog skin, i presume you did not like it :-)(hands on hips, mock anger)

  5. ....
    Picture me frowning right now.

Why sorrow? Rain is not synonymous to sorrow. Rain and darkness..yes.
But you can clearly see that its not dark or gloomy here.

Rain is a symbol of happiness, playfulness... and..its my element.
it rains when I am truly sad...rain comes to make me happy...

lately its making me a bit too happy... not stopping at all...
    and very playful.

Went shopping today... felt like a damn pink panther cartoon... soon as I step out of the car, it rains.. reach the shop..stops raining..get out of the shop..it rains....
bad time to not have an umbrella...

  7. Every time I pop by laterly you've redecorated! Are you feeling restless for something? As ever it looks great though :)

That photo is one I am very familiar with here in the UK. Our clouds have been thick, black and pretty much constant for a while now. It sure is wet! You're poem is very thoughtful but I think I like Diyadears take on it too. I would not eb surprised if the planet was not trying to cleanse itself.

  8. Heshey, Bob-kat,Diya, Devil-mood:
The number of people killed in yesterday's rain in my city alone is 40.
I guess for people like you and me, who can afford to 'enjoy' the rains and write poetry about it, based upon pictures clicked through digital cameras, the view may be different.

To the underpriviliged the rain only brings misery and sorrow.

Agricultural industry in india depends a lot on monsoons--therefore it is important. But to thousands its an awful, miserable, sorrowful time.

  9. as if the english and Indian clouds were not enough we now have clouds over france too. Went yesterday to Paris and luckily it did not rain even though very cloudy. But most days here too are rainy and gloomy. Guess if it did not rain then the ground table water would get depleted - at the rate it is consumed everywhere for washing, cleaning etc. So we need it, but it does dampen the mood somehow since you get stuck indoors.

  10. that is a great photo!

  11. You are quite right of course and your point serves to highlight the different perspectives on rain, as water brings both life and death. Even here we have had some deaths (not as many) due to people being swept away by the rain storms and flooding across the UK where many have been driven from their homes.

  14. Your words are beautiful and your blog looks great!
We've been having bad floods here in the States the past few days. A lot of deaths, homes lost, property destroyed.
The ironic thing is, my section of the country is praying for rain. We are in a serious drought and have been for years.

  15. Another change to the blog skin, I know that there is some serious work as it changes every alternate hour. It looks so cool... Well about the rain, yea it has to come down at sometime. What goes up should come down, like when you drive down the valley you have to at some point drive up the valley.. LOL what the hell is wrong with me.. but you get the picture don't you. Water goes up and comes down and we are like clowns sitting and wondering NOW WHAT [:D]

  23. long long debate you have managed to start lady ...

am not adding to the debate .. but yes .. the pic is beautiful .. clouds being preggy is a good way of putting it ..

and as an individual .. rains will always be a joy ... they were when i was a kid .. .and they are today .. and they will always be that way for me ....

but i know it can also be a sorrow for many ..

let me share an experience which highlights the mixed bag that showers from heavens - I remember being caught in that famous bombay rain last to last year ... i ended up walking 25 kms to my home ... it was joy cause it brought out the kid in me..splashing around in the water ....

But the next day i read a story of a guy like me walking back home .. and then to have been washed to the sea about a km from his home .. leaving a wife and infant behind .. that is sorrow ...

rain .. heavens blessing and curse...

  24. Like its said...ther r two sides to a coin.....P looks at the clouds as sorrow as they brought death to many ther.
But to me i find the clouds as joy...esp if they bring in rains...as here it hasnt rained at all. i love the rains so much n im waiting eagerly so that i can go out n enjoy it.Nice pic P!!
