Smiling Is Infectious
Author Unknown
(But Greatly Appreciated! )

Smiling is infectious,
you catch it like the flu,
When someone smiled at me today,
I started smiling too.

I passed around the corner
and someone saw my grin
When he smiled I realized
I'd passed it on to him .

I thought about that smile
then I realized its worth,
A single smile, just like mine
could travel round the earth.

So, if you feel a smile begin,
don't leave it undetected,
Let's start an epidemic quick,
and get the world infected!

  1. So many things make me smile :-) My friends, things I read in blogs, comedy...all sorts of stuff really.

I love that poem and it's true! Psychological studies have proven that people do respond to a smile even if they don't know you.

  3. What makes me smile is when something unexpectedly positive happens. Like today I was outside planting flowers and not enjoying it too much due to all the noise, traffic and dirt from the house being built next door. Then, one of the contractors stopped by because he had found a skateboard in the empty lot and didn't want to run over it or bury it. Even though it wasn't mine, it was such a nice, thoughtful thing for him to do.

  6. Is'nt it strange how sometimes you smile at someone in the street and you can see them thinking.."Do I know you?"..some people almost react as if you're invading their space!..I love to smile...I love invading peoples spaces with happiness!

  9. have read this somewhere before...I think..can't be sure.

what makes me smile? lots of things...
which type of smile are you referring to?
    I have many smiles.
food and sweets induces a childish smile with sparkling eyes, a touch of greed and gluttony follows.

kids playing induce a pleasant friendly smile..peaceful and heartfelt.

madcap profs and geeky apple polishing students help spread a deviant grin on my face, once again the eyes sparkle..with a hint of mischief.

women, very few make me smile, but when I do it is usually cocky, showing pride and confidence..and a little ego too.

for my foes, I reserve a maniacal grin that would make you think I have escaped from a mental asylum...

guess..kids rule..they are the ones that can make me smile frequently.

  13. A smile can make not only your own day but also has the impact of making someones day even better. A small thing like smiling gets people to open gates which otherwise would be shut and also their going out of the ways to help you out. Not saying that you sshould use it to benefit yourself, but just that it costs you nothing and ensures people around you also become happy. A smile can also ensure the strain you face in day to day life vanishes... Therefore Dr Shenoy says keep smiling. :)
